There are certain fields that can not be updated in a company using the “Reimport” function. Fields applicable for Company update: Name, Class, Category, Street, City, State, Zip Code, Country, Phone 1, Phone 2, Fax, Region, Web Site, Call Pattern, Status, Tags, Product Potentials, Customer Reference Number, Parent Company Id, Parent Company, Holiday Card, Visit Frequency, Industries
Not available for update in reimport: Company Type and Sales Team. But wait! You can update these fields using “Update Selected” button.

- Place a check mark next to the companies that you want to make changes to.
- Click “Update Selected” button.
- Select “Company Type.”

4. Choose the new company type. (we will show Sales Team below).

- If you allow “distributors” to have sales teams, you can change those to any customer type that acts like a “customer” because it will also require a sales team.
- You can NOT change a “manufacturer” to a “customer” (or vice versa) because it doesn’t currently have a sales team.
- An error will be displayed to let you know what changes have been successful.

4. or choose “Sales Team.”

5. Choose the desired sales team name.

- Now you will tell the system if you want to “Change CRM – Opportunities, Activity Journal and Purchase Orders.” All of the current deals, activities and open PO’s will move to the new sales team and the history will stay as the old sales team assignment.
- If you choose “Change both CRM and historical sales and commission entries” all the historical data will be removed from the old sales team records and recorded for the new sales team. It will also transfer all open deals/activity/POs to the new sales team as well.
- “Effective only for future records” will leave all history as is and current activity will also stay with the original sales team. Only things created after today, will be credited to the new sales team.
- If you would like to draw attention to open PO’s you can also choose to have them move to the “Exceptions” and they won’t get overlooked in the transition.
