Use Registrations to track your Designs

Design focus is required more and more of sales people, to “get on the print” or “get on the bill-of-material”.   Design approvals are difficult to track to make sure you get paid for them.  Our Registrations feature is a component to make it much easier to track your manufacturer’s and distributors internal system id’s so that you and your preferred distributor work on a specific design project, which gives the distributor a cost discount on the product so that they can win the business more easily while keeping other distributors at a price disadvantage.

For example, if a sales person from Arrow offers to bring you into a new project at Tesla, once the parts are identified, Arrow will file a request for registration of those parts.  You in turn approve them and file with your line so that they offer a discount of 10% when Arrow orders that part and includes your approved registration number.

Entering Registration Information within an Opportunity

  1. After you have “Enabled Registrations” in your Application Settings, you are able to enter the registration request number from your distributor’s request.
  2. Next you can set the status (Requested, Approved, Pending, Denied) as you work with your line to accept or deny the distributor’s request.
  3. Once it is approved, you can set the approval date and approver at the manufacturer so that your team knows whom to contact about the origin of the approval.
  4. Lastly, you can add the Expiration date (when the discount expires), Registration Level (discount levels your manufacturer provides that may differ depending on the  identification or demand generation role of the distributor), and notes for your team’s reference.

Registration numbers do not currently connect to commission records.
