Wondering why a particular contact does not sync from Repfabric to your Outlook or Gmail contacts? This article covers the basic settings and sync rules.
Sync Basics
Contact syncing is controlled by the Repfabric Sync+ add-in in your Outlook or Gmail. Contact sync must be initiated there.
Before using the “sync now” button, you need to have a “clean” list of contacts in your email. You do NOT want to sync a bunch of junk contacts. Please see “How to Clean my Contacts”, if you feel your contacts in your email are not worthy to sync yet.
Once you are ready to sync, please contact your Repfabric administrator to ensure that your company is set up to sync contacts (1-way or 2-way).
Repfabric syncs contacts based on the company they belong to in Repfabric. Any of these “Company Types”, will sync ALL contacts:
- manufacturer/principal
- manufacturer reps
- distributor (with NO sales team assigned, because then it would act like a customer)
- other company types with NO sales team assigned (examples include “Manufacturer – Former”, “Vendor”, “Supplier”)
You will have to choose what contacts to sync between Repfabric and your email. Most people choose to sync their contacts (check mark next to their own names, shown below).
You can choose whether to sync contacts that belong to another sales team that you are on (check mark next to additional names, shown below).
*Remember, most people sync their contacts from their work email with their cell phone. The more check marks, the more contacts. If you want to sync contacts for several sales teams in your email, you may not want them all on your phone. See “How to not see Repfabric contacts on cell phone.”
ALL contacts will still be available to you in the Repfabric mobile app.
Go to “Settings” > “Users” > Select “Contact Sync” tab Scroll down and check off which sales teams you want to sync with your email.

What won’t sync:
- Contacts who do NOT have a company name in your email contacts
- Contacts marked “Private” (Outlook) or in a “Personal” contact group (Gmail) in your email contacts
- Contacts on sales teams that you have chosen not to sync (no check mark in pic above)
- Contacts who you have deleted from Outlook will be flagged and will NOT re-sync

In the picture above it shows that contacts for both “Chris Farley” and “Will Farrell” will sync to email contacts. Contacts assigned to companies assigned to the “Shared Accounts” sales team will not sync for this user however.
