There are two methods for importing information from IS Quote. In order for this to work, please make sure you have configured your IS Quote to Repfabric connection according to this tutorial article.

Should I bring in Jobs or Quotes?

If you enter complete information about jobs into IS Quote, we recommend sync’ing the “Job” elements of IS Quote into Repfabric. By doing so, IS Quote quotes tied to the IS Quote job you are importing will automatically be ingested by Repfabric as well. Once the job for the “Gillette Stadium” is imported, the sync will bring in all 30 quotes from different wholesalers associated with that job.

If you do not enter job information into IS Quote, or only provide a brief job placeholder so you can prepare quotes, you can use Repfabric for the “job layer” and only bring in Quotes from IS Quote. Each quote will be brought into Repfabric but will not be linked to a specific job until, within Repfabric, you do so using the “Link to job” button in a Repfabric quote.

Method 1: Cherry picking Job and Quotes

When you only want to bring in certain large quotes or large jobs that justify your team’s need to rigorously follow up to win, we suggest using the “cherry picking” method. The benefits to this method are that 1) your sales people see less “turns” quotes that clutter up their system 2) you can selectively choose which quotes or jobs you want to chase. The down side is that it requires the quoter to complete the quote in IS Quote, and subsequently import the new quote or job into Repfabric, a process that can take 60 seconds or so for each new entry.

The process itself is quite simple, using the “New” button for a job or quote that already exists in IS Quote.

Step 1) Select the jobs/quotes you want to import.

Step 2) Alias the companies, contacts, categories and users associated with the job/quote.

In this case, you can import jobs and quotes based on creation date, modified date, or the job or quote number using the selector drop down. Quotes behaves in the same manner. By using the “cherry picking” , you can only bring in the important and “needle moving” must win jobs or quotes.

Method 2: Automated Job and Quote Sync (from IS Quote to Repfabric)

If you prefer to completely synchronize all quotes and all jobs from IS Quote to Repfabric, this can be enabled after a few pre-requisites. During your configuration of IS Quote, you’ll want to pre-map the IS Quote company name to the Repfabric company name for each customer. This process can be completed as described in the configuration tutorial mentioned above.

Secondly, if you do not send quotes to distributors from ISQuote, but rather, send quotes out via email, there is no trigger for Repfabric to import the quote. Therefore, please contact ISQuote to enable the “Release to Repfabric” button.

NOTE: If you send quotes out through ISQuote email you do not need to enable or press this button for each quote.

Generally it is a good idea to cherry pick quotes and jobs for a few days in order to test out how well aliases of one company name to another works and eliminate as many stalled records as possible for this reason.

Automated Sync Daily Monitoring (Method 2)

Once automated job or quotes are being pulled in on a regular basis, there will be mappings that are required that may not exist yet. These mappings include ISQ company to Rf company, category to category and sales person to sales person matching between both systems.

These matching issues will prevent the creation of jobs or quotes in the Repfabric system, and must be “cleared” on a regular basis so that no important quotes or jobs are missed.

These exceptions are queued up in the “Sync Exceptions” buttons within Jobs and quotes modules of Repfabric.

Pushing the button yields the list of issue, where you can alias the missing match to the correct company, category or contact in Repfabric. The example above show issues (which is what you are going for). Should there be an issue, you would be able to choose the alias (as shown above in Method 1) and click the “Reprocess” button to have the new record be fully ingested by Repfabric.
