One of the best features in Repfabric (RF) is being able to sync your contacts from RF to Outlook and vice versa.  As we all know, our contacts folder in Outlook has some personal contacts, some work contacts, and possibly some junk contacts.  We don’t want to push any personal or junk contacts into RF and then into other people’s Outlook from there. RF ONLY looks at the very top folder you have in Outlook.

To ensure a “clean” sync, we ask you to move all your contacts into a new folder you will create.  This way when sync is turned on, it will push into an empty folder.  This also allows you to make selections on your cell phone to decide which folders from Outlook you want to have available.  Follow the steps in this tutorial to get ready for two-way sync!

How to Create a New Contact Folder in Outlook

You may want to create a new Contact Folder for a number of reasons.  One reason would be to keep some contacts separate.

1.  Right click on your main “Contacts” folder.

2.   Left click “New Folder”.

3.  Type name for new Contacts Folder (In this example “Old Contacts”).

4.   Left click “OK”.

How to move all contacts to a new folder:

1. Click on any contact in your contact folder.

2. Use CTRL + A (to select all contacts).

3. Drag and drop the contacts into the new folder.

Now you can choose to also show the contacts in the new folder on your cell phone.  We will show you on iPhone but it should be similar on other phones.

1. Open your phone app and tap “Contacts” at the bottom.

2. Tap “Groups” in the top right corner.

3. Tap “All xxxxxxxx” at the top to remove the check from all folders.  Then check only the contact lists you want to see on your phone.
