Measuring dollar sales performance for a specific Manufacturing/Product Line
A “system-driven” goal means that the goal itself uses information driven by data generated from within the Repfabric system. Measures will be determined by the Repfabric system using past data from stored databases. This is in contrast to a custom goal, in which data is generated manually by the user by entering values into cells corresponding to the appropriate dates.
Creating the goal
To measure sales performance, we will use “Sales Amount” which means that the goal values will be determined on already existing sales data in your instance.
To begin this process we must access the Goals module within the Repfabric system, once there we can start by creating a new goal. In this tutorial we will keep this as a monthly goal, meaning the timeframe for goals will be in monthly increments.

In the top left corner of the goals module you will find the menu in the above image, once you click “New” a new empty goal will appear in the table below.

When clicking on the “Owner” name of a new goal it will open up the “Goal Details” pop up menu in which you can edit the goal.

Once in the “Goal Details” pop up menu you will be able to change the goal’s details, including its “Type”, “Name”, “Description”, “Goal” (The actual goal number you are aiming for), and more. Make sure you provide clear and relevant details for each goal so that other users can immediately understand what each goal is measuring.
As we are trying to track a $ sales amount for a particular line, we will choose the Sales Amount “Goal Type”.
Now, we need to specify the manufacturing line we’d like to track, and to do so we must enter the “More…” section of the “Goals Details” menu.

To pick a particular Manufacturing/Product line we must choose “Mfg./Product Line” under the “Filtered On” dropdown. From there we can do a lookup for all Manufacturing/product lines in the “Filtered Value” section by clicking on the blue magnifying glass. You are able to add as many filtered values as you’d like and their collective total will be counted as this goals total value.
As this is a $ sale performance goal we will set the “Unit” item as “Currency”.

As can be seen above, the necessary details have been filled, and this goal will now pick up all sales data relating to this particular manufacturing line. You may now save this goal by clicking on the blue “Save” button on the “Goal Details” menu, the updated values will appear in the goals table once this goal has been saved.

This same table will provide monthly increments along with the sales $ amount associated with that specific manufacturing/product line for each monthly increment.
You also have the ability to enter the goal’s dashboard by clicking on the blue square found at the very left of the goal item, in this dashboard view you will also be able to see graphs relating to your goals values.
