Setting a Sales Amount goal for a specific Customer

A goal of this type is a “system-driven” goal meaning it uses information driven by data generated from within the Repfabric system. Measures will be determined by the Repfabric system using past data from stored databases. This is in contrast to a custom goal, in which data is generated manually by the user by entering values into cells corresponding to the appropriate dates.

Setting up the goal

We can start off by navigating to the “Monthly” Goal types, which is found in the top-left corner by the green “New” button.

A monthly-basis for this type of goal is most-likely what is appropriate for the kind of data that will be generated from this customer’s sales, due to the month as a common accounting period.

Once here, we can create a new goal by clicking the “New” button, the goal will appear inside the goal table and will be named “[New Goal]”. We can enter the goal’s details by clicking on the goal owner’s name.

Once you have clicked the goal owner’s name, which in the above case is “Tutorial USER”, you will access the “Goal Details” pop up menu:

Once here we must set the “Goal Type” to “Sales Amount”, once this is done you should set your “Goal Name” field to an appropriate name that will distinguish it from your other goals. Similarly, the “Description” field should have a concise and fitting description that accurately describes the goal you are creating, as when it is viewed by others they should be able to quickly and easily understand what the goal relates to.

Next, in this tutorial we will be setting our “Goal” to $100,000, this means that the goal will only be met on a monthly-basis if the cell value in that month exceeds $100,000.

Continuing on, we must enter the “More…” section of the goal details:

To specify sales amount by a particular manufacturing line/product we must filter the goal on a specific value, we can do this by going to the “Filtered On” field and choosing “Customer”. This will allow us to filter through the different available customers available and choose a specific one to track within this goal. Once your “Filtered On” value is set, we can search through all available options by clicking on the blue magnifying glass symbol by the “Filtered Value” box

Once the blue magnifying glass symbol has been clicked the “Customer Lookup” pop-up menu will appear. You can select as many customers as you’d like to track within this goal. Once they are all selected by simply clicking on them, you must click on the blue “Add” button located at the top-right of the lookup menu. Once you have clicked the “Add” button you will be returned to the “Goals Details” pop-up, within that there is a “Unit” field, as this is a monetary goal (Sales amount) we should set this to currency to give us a better understanding when looking at the data.

Once you have finished, the above steps and clicked “Save” (ensure you click the blue “Save” button and not just close out of the pop-up with the “X” in the top-right as this will not save your goal settings), the goal should look something like the above image. Each month that has a value greater than our set goal will be green (e.g. Apr 2022-Dec 2022), however, if the cell-value under a particular month is under $400,000 (e.g. Nov 2021) it will appear red.
